The oral presentations will be of 20 minutes, being 15 minutes for presentations and 5 minutes for questions.

GUIDELINES  FOR  SPEAKERS

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

This guideline summarizes some useful information concerning the organizational questions and Metrologia 2011oral presentations. It is hoped that this guideline will help to have uniformly high-level presentations at the Congference.

 1.         Presentation Time

·            Please confirm the session rooms and presentation times in the Programme of the Conference.

·            The time allocated for each paper is as follows:

                           Plenary Lecture:  50 min (including 10 min for discussion)

 Oral presentations:  20 min (15 min for presentation and 5 min for discussion) 

2.         Equipments

·            All lecture rooms will be equipped with the slide projector (Datashow), computer projection system, microphones, and light pointer.

·            The computer-based presentation must be prepared as .ppt files (i.e. MS Office Power Point files); 

3.         Other Remarks

·            It is important to give the file with your presentation in the media desk before the beginning of the session and with enough antecedence;

·            Please be present in the lecture room at least 15 min before the session.

·            Do not read your submitted written text word by word. It is much more preferable to point out the basic ideas and/or heuristic explanations.

·            Inform your audience with a few introductory sentences about the broader significance of your paper. Allow sufficient time for slides and projections. Explain each figure, and table as well. Please give the audience enough time to understand a figure (or table) before going on to other topics. Keep a check on your presentation time.

·            Please respect your chairman’s instructions during the presentation, particularly in keeping your time limit.

·            For a presentation of 15 minutes it is recommendable about 12 slides

·            Please note that, in order to ensure the fine running of the Conference, as well as to enable the other colleagues to present their papers, it is essential that speakers adhere to these time restrictions. This rule will be strictly enforced by the sessions Moderators or Chairs.
