The mechanical metrology underlies all technical and scientific developments in areas as diverse as metalworking, metallurgy, health care, energy sources, aerospace, nanotechnology, among many others. Many quantities are involved within its scope.

With this in mind, Inmetro and the Brazilian Society of Metrology (SBM) organize the second International Congress on Mechanical Metrology (II CIMMEC), expecting to receive in the city of Natal, Brazil a great and varied contribution from metrology professionals from Brazil and abroad to show their technical works and developed research, through oral and posters presentations, or, as well, to attend this Congress as an opportunity to acquire and update their knowledge in the different thematic areas of the event.

Counting on the interest and enthusiasm of the technical-scientific community, the Organizing Institutions invite people and organizations to participate in this important congress, reiterating the commitment to organize an event according to highest international standards. This event has been conceived to integrate people and organizations from Brazil and abroad in the discussion of advanced themes in metrology.

The II CIMMEC intends to be the stage of discussions of subjects related to Mechanical Metrology and instrumentation, ensuring tools for the development of science and measurements technology, in the context of the so-called society of knowledge.
